A man has appeared in court charged with seven child sex offences.
Mark Adams is accused of four charges of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, one of attempting to cause a 13-year-old girl to engage in sexual activity and two charges of attempting to cause a child aged 13 to 15 to watch/look at an image of sexual activity.
All offences are alleged to have taken place between February 4 and February 7 last year.
Adams, of Rowe Terrace in Workington, is alleged to have requested explicit images of a child’s bra or breast and of making inappropriate sexual comments on February 6.
The second charge alleges that two days earlier he made references about the alleged victim’s body parts and is said to have requested to see an image of her breasts.
On February 7 he is said to have attempted to instruct an alleged 13-year-old victim how to take part in sexual activities during messages.
On the same day, Adams is said to have made further sexual requests by message to a 13-year-old.
The fifth charge alleges that he attempted to cause a child aged 13 to 15 to watch a female engaging in sexual activity on February 4.
A day later he is also alleged to have made more sexually inappropriate comments towards a person under 16.
The final charge alleges that the 39-year-old attempted to cause someone aged 13 to 15 to watch a female engaging in sexual activity.
Adams appeared before Workington magistrates’ court on November 8 and did not enter a plea.
He was bailed to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on December 10. He is banned from spending time with anyone under the age of 16 ahead of his hearing.
