Firefighters will be washing cars this weekend for charity.
Crews will be raising funds for the Fire Fighters Charity, which offers help to serving and retired personnel and their families.
As well as washing cars in return for a donation, firefighters will also be offering a tyre safety check, information on fire safety in the home and the opportunity to ask any questions about smoke alarms or fire prevention.
Paul Milburn, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service’s station manager and charity liaison lead, said: “The Fire Fighters Charity is an excellent cause and like any other charity relies in the main on the generosity of the public, so I’m delighted to see fire stations across the county taking part in helping the charity raise vital funds.
“As well as getting their cars washed, these events will give motorists the opportunity to get potentially life-saving advice from our firefighters, so I’d urge people to get along to their local fire station if they can.”
