
Cumbria police recorded the fifth-highest number of arrests for public drunkenness of all British forces by population.
Figures obtained by online men’s wellness company From Mars under the Freedom of Information Act showed Cumbria Constabulary made 2,100 arrests on suspicion of antisocial behaviour, equating to 420 arrests per 100,000 people.
Taking the top spot was Northumbria Police who made 11,498 arrests, which amounts to 785 per 100,000 people. Merseyside Police and Lancashire Constabulary came in second and third respectively and Norfolk Constabulary took fourth position.
All British police forces were approached for the number of arrests made for public drunkenness in the years 2016-2020.
