
The latest pigeon show in West Cumbria attracted 87 entries, and of a high standard.
Billy Southward had the task of sorting out the class of old hens at the second show of the series organised by Flimby HS.
The local loft of Jimmy Varty, son and grandson took first and second, while another Flimby loft of Peter Rushforth and Willie Hunter were third.
A third Flimby loft, of Jimmy Nelson and Fletcher Crellin were fourth and eighth.
The other three tickets went to Workington fanciers. The McLuckie brothers – Morris and Wayne – took fifth and seventh while Stephen Williams, family and Jimmy Hadfield were sixth.
Next Wednesday’s show is for young cocks.
Meanwhile, Workington Victoria will be holding their first show on Friday night for old cocks in the Union Jack Club, judging to start at 7-30pm.
