Patrick Brough will be back in the Barrow squad for the Bluebirds’ FA Cup trip to Ipswich Town tomorrow.
Brough was suspended last week and missed the 1-0 defeat at Sutton with his manager Mark Cooper declaring that if he had played they wouldn’t have conceded the winning goal.
“He’s been a big part of what we have been trying to do, an important player at left wing-back and it will be good to get him back.
“Perhaps the one area of his game he can improve in is scoring goals, considering the positions he gets into and I’ve had a little word with him about that,” said Cooper.
Also back in the squad for the second-round clash at Portman Road is Connor Brown who has been out with illness.
Cooper is looking forward to the game, a break from league football, and believes it’s a role reversal from the first round.
“We were expected to go to non-league Banbury and win the game, which we did. This time we will be the underdogs and the pressure of winning will be on Ipswich.
“I saw their manager Paul Cook at our game on Saturday, while I was at Oldham for their replay. So both clubs are showing the right sort of respect to the opposition, which is how it should be.
“I believe Paul will have gone away from Sutton thinking that Barrow aren’t bad even though we lost the game.
“We had almost 70% possession, had 16 shots and 19 corners but couldn’t find the net. But I’m happy enough with how we played, it’s just finding the ability to put away some of our chances which is holding us back,” said the Bluebirds boss.
