The government is expected to face a backbench rebellion when MPs are asked to vote on NHS COVID Passes.
NHS COVID Passes, often referred to as “vaccine passports”, would require all visitors to certain venues aged 18 years or over to be fully vaccinated (currently a full course of vaccination without the need for a booster, but this will be kept under review), have proof of a negative test in the last 48 hours, or have an exemption.
It would apply to venues such as nightclubs, indoor events with 500 or more unseated attendees and outdoor events with 4,000 or more unseated attendees.
MPs will vote on the proposal, along with plans for compulsory vaccination for NHS frontline staff, mask-wearing in certain indoor settings and advice to work from home where possible.
