
Stephen Williams and Jimmy Hadfield had double cause for celebration at the last in the series of winter shows organised by Workington Victoria.
Two classes were staged on the night – all ticket winners and for coloureds, pieds and grizzles – with the Victoria partners winning both.
In addition Williams and Hadfield, which also includes Stephens dad Graham and uncle Harry, were the winners of most points in the series (49).
The two classes (69 entries) were judged by John McNichol and he gave tickets as follows:-

Coloured class: 1, 4, Williams and Hadfield; 2, 3, Rushforth and Hunter; 5, Dolan and son; 6, Varty, son and grandson; 7, McLuckie bros; 8, Mr and Mrs Carter and sons.

Flimby HS held their final show race for the first Channel race which was judged by Stephen Williams and Jimmy Hadfield and they had 61 entries to assess.
