A man was seriously injured after being involved in a collision with a car in Windermere.
The man and a woman, who were visiting the area, were involved in the incident with a Volkswagen Golf on High Street on Friday at around 4.10pm.
The couple, who were walking at the time of the incident, were taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary for treatment.
The woman sustained minor injuries but the 50-year-old man’s leg injuries required surgery.
He is, however, soon to be discharged from hospital.
The driver of the car, a local man in his 20s, was uninjured.
Police are appealing for any witnesses in the area at the time of the collision to come forward and for any dashcam footage of the collision, of the area before the collision, or the car being driven before the collision.
