
A man’s phone and wallet were taken after he was threatened with a knife in Carlisle.
Police are appealing for information following a reported robbery at 8.30pm on December 22, on Portland Square Gardens.
The report is of a local man in his 40s being threatened with a knife.
A phone and wallet were taken during the incident.
Police attended the scene.
A police spokesperson said: “Incidents of this nature remain rare in Cumbria. We are working to investigate the incident and bring the offender to justice. We have dedicated officers on the investigation and are following multiple lines of enquiry, including appealing to the public for information.”
The suspect is described as male, around 6ft tall and of average build. It is believed he didn’t have a local accent. He was described as wearing a black beanie hat, black facemask and a black ‘bomber’ style jacket.
Police are appealing for any information about the incident including from anyone who may have been in the area at the time, or anyone with CCTV/dashcam footage that covered the area of the incident.
