A man’s phone and wallet were taken after he was threatened with a knife in Carlisle.

Police are appealing for information following a reported robbery at 8.30pm on December 22, on Portland Square Gardens.

The report is of a local man in his 40s being threatened with a knife.

A phone and wallet were taken during the incident.

Police attended the scene.

A police spokesperson said: “Incidents of this nature remain rare in Cumbria. We are working to investigate the incident and bring the offender to justice. We have dedicated officers on the investigation and are following multiple lines of enquiry, including appealing to the public for information.”
