
A man in custody after two children were almost abducted in Barrow has been arrested in connection with a second incident, police said.
The man, in his 40s, was picked up by police after a woman in Barrow Park alerted a park ranger just minutes after the incident yesterday.
The man was trying to abduct two youngsters under the age of 10.
Cumbria police said the man was also arrested in connection with a second incident of attempted abduction, alleged to have taken place in Marsh Street on December 17.
Detectives have thanked the public for their response to their appeal yesterday for the woman who raised the alarm to come forward.
A spokesman said: “Detectives have received positive responses from the public.”
Officers remain keen to hear from anyone else with any other information which could assist.
