Two people had to be rescued from an island in the middle of a lake on New Year’s Day.
Three fire engines were called to a report of a person in the water at St Herbert’s Island in Derwentwater at around 10.25am.
Two people were stranded and the fire service rescued them using a National Trust boat to bring them back to shore.
No injuries were reported.
