Although League Two results have been going against them recently, Barrow will be relaxed about Saturday’s trip to Barnsley.
The club has never reached the fourth round of the FA Cup and although the Tykes are two levels higher they are struggling and the Bluebirds will be under no pressure.
Waving thew flag for the south Cumbrians is midfielder Josh Kay who was given his pro debut by Barnsley in 2016.
He insists that he and his team-mates can play with some pressure off this weekend as they head to his former club in round three of the Emirates FA Cup.
Kay, 24, who has also had League experience with Tranmere and Chesterfield said: “After seeing-off League One Ipswich Town in the last round, I know that we can pull-off another shock at Barnsley if we all play to our potential.
“We’ve got nothing to lose. Knowing that it’s all about who is better on the day, and if you lose that’s it for the competition, always gets you a little more up for it and excited, especially when you’re playing a bigger club.
“We’re all looking forward to the challenge. I know the club hasn’t made it to round four before so it would be amazing if we could do it – and I think we’ve got a chance.”
Barnsley are next to bottom of the Championship, eight points off safety while Barrow are 19th in League Two four points above the drop zone.
