Barrow have signed Burton Albion’s much-travelled striker Aaron Amadi-Holloway on loan until the end of the season.
The 28-year-old, 6dt 2ins centre forward has twice been capped by Wales with the Under-17s (10 games) and Under-19s (once).
His extensive CV includes stints in Australia and India playing for teams coached by former Liverpool star Robbie Fowler.
The Cardiff-born forward had started with his hometown club at youth level before moving to Bristol City. He never made a senior appearance at Ashton Gate, although he did play five games on loan with Bath City.
He made his Football League debut for Newport County (Barrow’s opponents this weekend) but after four games he was released.
Then best period of his career followed, with two years at Wycombe Wanderers for whom he played 52 times and scored six goals.
Latterly at Wycombe he was loaned to Oldham Athletic and scored twice in ten outings.
The next three years saw him spend a season each at Fleetwood, Oldham and Shrewsbury where he played a total of 87 games but scored only three times.
Then followed the move abroad to Australia and then India before returning to the UK this season to join Burton Albion where he has made 11 appearances.
“He will play through the middle, he’s good in the air and he will occupy defenders,” said Barrow manager Mark Cooper who sees his new man as an ideal target man to help the strikers around him.
