A construction manager in Cumbria has been named one of the best in the UK.

Joe Scully, of Genesis Homes, was Highly Commended at the prestigious Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Warranty Site Manager Awards after being shortlisted as one of the top-performing managers across England and Wales.

Joe’s impressive workmanship on the 55-home Beckstones development at Rheda North Park, near Whitehaven, was ranked highly by the judges who had the task of visiting construction sites the length and breadth of the UK.

All finalists were assessed on a number of criteria which included general co-operation, health and safety, tidiness of the site, standards of site management and quality of workmanship.

Joe said: “To make the final of such a prestigious award when the standard of site management across the country is so high is something I am really proud of.

“I always strive for the highest standards at every site I work on, and for professionals in the industry to rank my workmanship and quality so highly is just amazing.

“Having such a good team around me at Genesis Homes makes the job so much easier, and this award is high praise for the great work that is carried out here on a daily basis.”

Nicky Gordon, the Managing Director of Genesis Homes, was full of praise for Joe and congratulated him on the Highly Commended award.

Nicky said: “Joe is a real credit to Genesis Homes and he takes great pride in achieving high standards across all his work. He has a real passion for delivering quality homes and creating thriving communities.

“He is a great asset to the company and a real shining example to other members of staff, and we wish to congratulate him on gaining much-deserved recognition for his hard work.”

LABC is a leader in delivering impartial and professional building control services throughout England and Wales.
