Workington Zebra Finches kept up their winning ways with a hard fought 24-8 win at Upper Eden Eagles.
After a tough and competitive Cumbrian derby the victory moved the Finches up to third in Women’s North 2 West.
Juliet Porter scored two tries with Lauren Coulson and Lauren Wilkinson also crossing the try line, while Danielle Easdon added two conversions.
Upper Eden’s player of the match Lucy Branthwaite scored the Eagles’ try.
Once again, it was another good all-round team performance by the Finches, who were completing the double over their Penrith hosts, having already beaten them 17-5 at The Ellis last October.
Next up for Workington are home matches on successive Sundays – first this week-end against fellow promotion chasers Trafford MetroVic and then the following week against Burnley.
