Barrow forward Offrande Zanzala is to undergo surgery after suffering a knee injury during his second game on loan with Exeter City.
The former Carlisle striker was hurt early in the game at Walsall, only his second outing for The Grecians, and it’s now been decided that an operation is the best course of action.
The Exeter manager Matt Taylor has revealed that the length of time Zanzala will have to spend on the sidelines will not be known until after he has undergone surgery next weekend.
Taylor told City’s Official Website: “We’ll only know fully once he’s out of that surgery and the surgeon gives his report.
“There is a primary tear which we feel will be a straightforward one to take out of his knee, in terms of the meniscus and the cartilage, and that could be a four-to-six-week job.
“But the secondary tear is a little bit more complicated and will require some repair work – and how detailed that repair work is, will determine how long he’s out for.
“We still hope he can play a part this season and we will expect him to play a part this season and it’s certainly something we’re looking forward to when it happens.”
