Two key players could be back in action for Whitehaven on Sunday when they visit London Broncos in the Betfred Championship.
Neither experienced centre Chris Taylor nor captain Karl Dixon have figured in either of the two Championship games so far.
But both have been declared fit to be included in a squad of 21 for the long trip south and the clash on Sunday.
Jonty Gorley has announced his 21-man squad to travel to the capital for their Betfred Championship clash, looking to break their duck following two pre-season defeats and two losses in League contests so far.
Both Glenn Riley and Jake Moore are unavailable for this fixture while Andrew Bulman is serving a one match suspension following his sin-binning in the first Championship game of the season at Leigh Centurions.
The Broncos have also lost both their opening Championship fixtures, as they Whitehaven, Workington and Dewsbury are still looking for their first points of the season.
Gorley said: “The Broncos are not full-time this season but they will still be a tough proposition down there, especially if we don’t look after the ball better than we have in the games so far.”
The Broncos might be part-time but they are using the facilities at AFC Wimbledon’s Plough Lane – the Cherry Red Records stadium.
Broncos owner David Hughes says the move to Wimbledon represents the best chance the rugby league club has for long term survival.
“Our target in three years is to be watched by 5,000 fans. That is where we need to be and we have the best chance of achieving that in the Wimbledon area and with AFC Wimbledon as partners in my opinion.”
The squad is: Doyle, Eccleston, Taylor, Evans, Dixon, Williams, McAvoy, Phillips, Walker, King, Cooper, Aiye, Newton, Holliday, Wilkinson, Dawson, Graham, Bradley, Hudson, Martin, Bishop.
