The weather seriously affected the Sunday League programme in West Cumbria with only two games going ahead.
Thanks to the artificial surfaces at Cleator Moor and Netherhall School, the two games were able to be played.
It was, though, a red letter day for the Junction team as they earned their first ever win in the Workington and District Sunday League.
In a Divisional One Cup fixture switched to Netherhall, they came out on top 4-1 against Highfield and as it’s the first game in that section they top the group.
They had the help of an own goal but on target were Ryan Mahoney, Jack Reid and Ryan Long while Dan Graham found the net for Highfield.
The only other fixture was in the Sunday County Cup where Northside, the Workington Premier League champions won 4-2 at Lowca Pirates from the Egremont League.
Darren Little, Jamie Bramley, Chad Grisdale and Jaden Scott scored the Northside goals. No scorers given for Lowca.
Hoping for better weat5her next week, the fixtures are:- Sunday County Cup – Salterbeck v Royal Oak; JJ’s v Thornhill.
Premier Divisional Cup Group B: Deer Orchard v Sun Inn. Division One Cup Group A: Sun Inn Athletic v The Junction. Division One Cup Group B: Flimby Social v Senhouse.
