Whitehaven pile in to stop Nene McDonald (Ben Challis)

Both Whitehaven and Barrow will travel to League One opposition in the fourth round of the Challenge Cup.

As a result of the week-end’s third round ties the two Cumbrian Championship sides avoided trips to National Conference opposition.

Whitehaven will go to Doncaster on Sunday, February 27 after they won 20-0 at Rochdale Mayfield.

Barrow face a trip to Rochdale Hornets after they were 28-12 winners at Lock Lane. But the amateurs were only trailing 18-12 at the break.

The League One clubs are still only in training as their competitive season does not start until March 26/27.

Although Whitehaven have confirmed a Sunday game at Doncaster, Barrow are still awaiting confirmation on which day of the weekend they will play.

Workington Town already knew their opposition in the fourth round as they were drawn at home to fellow Championship side Derwsbury Rams.

The Rams scored their first win of the season on Sunday when they beat Sheffield Eagles 12-10.Town, despite an outstanding performance against Featherstone, still prop up the table looking for that crucial first win.
