Egremont won the Jackie Davidson Memorial Trophy when they beat West Cumbrian neighbours Hensingham 30-12.
The Trophy is contested annually by two of the amateur sides coached by Davidson, a popular character who died five years ago.
It was a game he would have appreciated with lots of commitment from both sets of players in very poor weather conditions.
Egremont, preparing for another season in National Conference Premier Division, scored six tries to take the game away from their opponents who will play again in the Third Division of the Conference.

The Egremont tries were scored by Sam Appleby, Matt Hutchins, Kris Tyson, Kie Glenn, Seas Mumberson and James Newton with three conversions from Matty Bewsher.
Hensingham, who included new coach Jessie Joe Parker in their line-up, went over twice through Josh Robertson while Noel Branthwaite kicked two goals.
Both clubs will start their National Conference campaign on March 5.
