Cumbria’s NatWest banks have escaped the axe as the company announces branch closures across the country.
NatWest said it was closing 32 branches permanently, including some Royal Bank of Scotland branches, because of a shift to online and mobile banking.
However, its branches in Cumbria – including Windermere, Kendal, Penrith, Workington and Whitehaven – are not part of this cull.
The bank also operates a number of mobile services across the county, which will not be affected.
