One flood warning and five alerts are in force in Cumbria as the county recovers from several days of heavy rain.
A flood warning – which means flooding is expected – is in place for Keswick Campsite.
The warning states: “The level of Derwentwater remains high as a result of recent heavy rainfall. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains for low-lying areas bordering the shores of Derwentwater and the frontage of the Keswick Camping and Caravan Club Site.
“No further rainfall is forecast today and we expect the level to begin falling slowly over the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.”
Flood alerts – which means flooding is possible – are in force for the following areas:
- Lower River Eden
- Rivers Brathay, Rothay and Winster
- Rivers Duddon, Crake and Mill Beck
- Rivers Lowther and Eamont
- Upper River Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck and Derwentwater
