The stormy weather and subsequent postponements has put the Sunday County Cup behind schedule, particularly in the east of the county.
Although the west side has completed three of the four regional quarter finals, all four still have to be played in the east.
Those ties have all been postponed twice and now, in line with the competition rules the games now switch with the away team becoming the home team and vice versa.
Weather permitting those ties will be played on Sunday:
- Inter Pirelli v Jovial Sailor (TBC currently with competition committee)
- Crusaders FC Lloyds v Reunited
- Northbank 1970 v Scotby
- Brampton v Unisun Athletic.
The one tie remaining to be played in the west – Thornhill v JJ’s FC – will also be played on Sunday if the weather relents.
Ben Snowdon, the chief executive of the Cumberland FA, said: “We will confirm these ties and changes with the teams tomorrow and hope for better weather this weekend.
“We are currently planning on completing the quarter final draw later this week as the next round (quarter finals) is due to be played on Sunday March 6.
“However we are aware that with only three ties being played in the third round so far and the rest hopefully being played this Sunday, it would mean that the next round is the following Sunday.
“We are aware that, though nobodies fault, this would mean that the local leagues have not been able to play any games for a few weeks now.
“We are trying everything we can to get these games played, and are currently working with 3G providers to establish opportunities to play games there, should any games look doubtful – but availability is not great.
“We wish to work together on this so welcome any feedback clubs may have with regard to the dates for the next round etc.”
