Aspatria Hornets get a second bite of the cherry tomorrow at the BARLA National Cup.
The Cumberland ARL side entertain Sharlston Rovers in the quarter final tie, despite losing their previous match at Ackworth Jaguars.
Their conquerors were thrown-out of the competition for fielding ineligible players and Aspatria were re-instated.
Sharlston got through when their scheduled opponents pulled out of the competition as they could not raise a side.
Hornets coach Hitro Okesene is hopeful that his side can progress again and reach the semi-final of BARLA’s flagship competition.
“I’ve seen a video of them and to my mind they are beatable. But that of course depends on us turning up and playing as we are capable.
“We are hoping that home advantage will play its part and I’m sure we are going to get a lot of support for the game which will be a big help to our boys.
“I thought we fve a good account of ourselves at Acxkworth, despite the fact that we had several players operating in positions they weren’t used to.
“It wil;l be a bit different this time because we have Guy Reed at stand-off and Jack Wilson at hooker, two play-makers who couldn’t travel to Ackworth.
“It’s also good to have Kenneth Bowes back. He can play centre, wing or full-back and his experience is going to be very useful,” said Okesene.
The other quarter finals are: West Hull v Thatto Heath Crusaders (who won at Maryport); Myton Warriors v Blackbrook; Waterhead Warriors v Orrell St. James.
