Volunteers from Blood Bikes Cumbria have been given a £1,000 thank you for their help at COVID-19 vaccination clinics.
Members from the service – which sees the volunteers deliver essential blood and urgent medical supplies for free and out of hours between hospitals and laboratories in north and West Cumbria and Newcastle – acted as marshals for the North Carlisle Health Centre at vaccination clinics.
A spokesman for Blood Bikes Cumbria said: “A big thanks to Tracy Darrington and her team at the health centre as this was unexpected and overwhelming.”
Geoff Webster presented a certificate of appreciation on behalf of Bloodbikes Cumbria to Dr Andrew Edgar and Paul Farnworth of the health centre, with Blood Bikes Cumbria volunteers George West, David Goodfellow, Tom McStay and Les Turner.
Geoff added: “Not present was Steve Foster, all who gave top support throughout the pandemic.”
