Barrow full-back Connor Brown has undergone a hernia operation in London and faces up to two months out of the game.
The 30-year-old defender has been struggling for a couple of weeks and has missed the last three games. A specialist recommended surgery as the best route forward.
Manager Mark Cooper told the club website: “Connor has had the operation now so he’s going to be six to eight weeks we think so that’s a blow for us.
“The other lads who are injured are still a little way off because you have to remember that they have to get back into training and get match fit, so they can’t help us in the short term.”
They are Josh Kay, Luke James and Joe Grayson, while Tom Beadling is back in training but is not ready to play as he will have to spend more time on the training pitch before returning.
But there is good new for Barrow that striker Aaron Amadi-Holloway has finished his three-game ban and will be back in the squad this week-end for the trip to Rochdale.
Cooper said: “It’s been frustrating because in our opinion he made an honest challenge against Stevenage and was punished for it/
“That’s part of the game, the ups and downs that are involved, but he’s looking forward to having a chance to put things right. We’re looking forward to having him back because he offers us something different.”
