Goalkeeper Paul Farman was the second-half hero for Barrow in their 0-0 draw at Rochdale’s Crown Oil Arena.
It was the sixth draw in the last eight games for the Bluebirds but it was good enough to lift them one place up the table.
The South Cumbrians had 608 fans supporting them and they saw their favourites ahead on points at half-time after coming closest to breaking the deadlock.
It wasn’t quite the same in the second-half when Rochdale certainly looked the more likely side to score and keeper Farman was the key man for the Bluebirds.
Farman’s heroics had actually started early in the game when Tahvon Campbell raced clear and the Barrow keeper had to dash from his line to make a superb block.
On 12 minutes it was Farman again who in action this time palming away an angled shot from 20 yards by Jimmy Keohane.
There was a nearly moment for Barrow after good work from the lively Robbie Gotts to put Remeao Hutton into a dangerous position but his low cross, although sliced alarmingly into the air by a defender, was pouched by keeper Jay Lynch.
Farman was alert again when the ball broke kindly for James Ball inside the box, but the keeper blocked the shot with his feet.
For all it was Farman rather than Lynch who was busier it was Barrow who went closest to scoring when captain Ollie got his head on a deep John Rooney corner to head against the bar.
Rochdale had a good chance at the start at the start of the second half when Stephen Dooley’s pull back for Ball was so inviting but he shot badly wide.
There was another opportunity on 53 minutes for Campbell but he hooked wide and then the same player was denied by Farman after getting on the end of Corey O’Keefe’s flighted cross.
Farman saved well, at the expense of a corner, when Max Clark was on the end of a deep free kick and late on George Broadbent shot over from 20 yards.
The only real threatening effort for Barrow had come on 71 minutes when a Patrick Brough cross was glanced wide of the far post by Aaron Amadi-Holloway.
