A man has appeared in court charged with four child sex offences.
Michael McCreedy, 57, did not enter a plea when he appeared before magistrates in Carlisle on March 11.
He is accused of four counts of being someone aged 18 or over who engaged in sexual activity with a girl. It is alleged he:
- On March 23, 2021, at Carlisle, intentionally touched a girl aged 14, by hugging her and putting his hands inside her pants and underwear so that he was touching and cupping her naked buttocks, not reasonably believing she was aged 16 or over, and the touching was sexual.
- Between December 31, 2019, and March 24, 2021, at Carlisle, on not less than 12 occasions intentionally touched a girl aged under 15, by putting his hand inside her pants and underwear and touching her buttocks, not reasonably believing she was aged 16 or over, and the touching was sexual.
- Between May 31, 2020, and September 1, 2020, intentionally touched a girl aged 14, by putting his hand inside her shorts and trying to put his fingers inside her underwear, not reasonably believing she was aged 16 or over, and the touching was sexual.
- Between December 31, 2019 and May 31, 2020, at Carlisle, intentionally touched a girl aged 13, by putting his hand inside her top and unhooking her bra, not reasonably believing she was aged 16 or over, and the touching was sexual.
McCreedy, of Millford, Gateshead, was bailed to appear before Carlisle Crown Court on April 8.
In the meantime, he must not have any contact with the complainant, must not have unsupervised contact with a child under 16 years of age and must not have any child under 16 at his home address.
