Carlisle Cycling Association will be holding their first competitive event of the year at the cycle circuit in Harraby on Thursday, March 31.
This is a standalone test event to get everyone back into the swing of things before the association’s main evening series of racing starts after Easter.
Next Thursday’s event is for riders over-16 years of age only, but the main series will include youth races, women-only races and races for veterans.
CCA will also be hosting the opening round of the North West Youth League at Harraby on Saturday, April 23 when there will be races for children from under-8s to under 16s running throughout the day. Spectators are welcome at any of the races.
CCA are also running some training sessions at the Circuit over the Easter holidays.
On April 5 and April 12 there will be coaching for young riders aged 10 to 16 at 6pm which is followed by a session for adults at 7.30pm.
Younger children will be welcome at 2.30pm on April 12 at a session specifically designed for riders under 10.
If anyone reading Cumbria Crack is interested in any of CCAs events, either as a rider or a volunteer, they should follow their Facebook page or contact the secretary on carlislecyclingassoc@yahoo.com for more information and details on how to book.
Newcomers are always welcome.
