A man has had five years added to his sexual harm prevention order after investigations uncovered he had breached it.
David Prospero, 71, formerly known as David Johnson, is subject to conditions about using the internet after previous offences involving indecent child images.
But he breached conditions by having no history displayed on his computer before a certain date and by having deletion software downloaded onto a computer.
Prospero, of Lowther Gardens, Grange-over-Sands, admitted at Carlisle Crown Court the breach of a sexual harm prevention order.
The order had been due to expire but the court said it must stay in place for another five years.
It also ordered the destruction of his devices.
Speaking after the sentencing, DC Cheryl Smith said: “Our officers work hard to monitor and manage people who are subject to such orders and this shows that if they are breaching them, we will find out.
“Cases of this nature are taken very seriously. This should reassure the public that we are actively managing people with sexual harm prevention orders.”
Prospero was also sentenced to a 20-day community rehabilitation order.
