Guy Graham, sent off last Sunday, will be available for Whitehaven’s eagerly awaited Challenge Cup-tie with St Helens.
The prop forward saw red after only 20 minutes of the game against Sheffield but his two-match penalty does not come into effect until the next Championship fixture.
So Graham is included in the 21-strong squad to face the reigning Challenge Cup holders at the LEL Arena (2pm ko tomorrow. Saturday Match 26), which is being streamed live on the Sportsman channel.
Head coach Jonty Gorley is also able to welcome back Tom Walker who had to drop out of the squad last week against Sheffield.
The one change from that squad sees Walker come back in to replace fellow prop Kieran Hudson.
The former Newcastle Thunder forward is back at the LEL Arena on loan from Castleford Tigers after signing a deal until the end of 2023 but has returned back on loan for the remainder of 2022. However he is not available for Challenge Cup fixtures.
St Helens will include two Cumbrians in their 21 strong squad – former Whitehaven forward Kyle Amor and Morgan Knowles who hails from Barrow.
Regan Grace and Joe Batchelor come into the 21 in place of Josh Simm and Matty Lees.
Whitehaven’s 21 are: Doyle, Eccleston, Evans, Bulman, Dixon, Williams, McAvoy, Phillips, Walker, King, Cooper, Aiye, Holliday, Wilkinson, Dawson, Graham, Moore, Bradley, Martin, Bishop, Olstrom.
The St Helens 21 are: Welsby, Makinson, Percival, Grace, Lomax, Dodd, Roby, Batchelor, Knowles, Lussick, McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Sironen, Paasi, Amor, Wingfield, Davies, Hurrell, Norman, Royle, Bennison, Baxter.
