Volunteer crew from Barrow RNLI were called to help search for a missing person on Walney Island.
They launched their inshore lifeboat Vision of Tamworth at around 7.45pm yesterday, March 28, after concerns had been raised about the welfare of a person spotted in the promenade area.
Ben Jackson was at the helm, assisted by Adam Cleasby and Shaun Hagan.
The lifeboat proceeded north along Walney Channel and after passing under Jubilee Bridge commenced a search of the east side of the Island.
At 8.28pm, the lifeboat was stood down following confirmation that the missing person had been located and was safe.
Before returning to the lifeboat station, the lifeboat crew joined shore-based coastguard units from Furness and Millom along with Ulverston Inshore Rescue for an incident debrief.
The lifeboat returned to the boathouse at 855pm, where it was made ready for the next launch.
