Alabama 3: It’s time to get whacked – catch them at Brewery Arts

Alabama 3

They are not from the American South and there’s not three of them – but Alabama 3 are on their way to Kendal to share their unique musical style.

Alabama 3 are actually from Brixton and are most famous for singing Woke Up This Morning – the theme tune for iconic TV series The Sopranos, although they say “That tune bought someone a swimming pool, but it sure wasn’t any of us…”

Masters of genre-blending – they call themselves “a pop band, a punk rock, blues and country techno situationist crypto-Marxist-Leninist electro band” – people can get a taste of their eclectic style at Kendal’s Brewery Arts on April 10. Tickets are available here.

They are set to further add to their rich musical heritage with new single Whacked, available April 30 via Submarine Cat Records, with an album to follow in August.

Whacked is the first taste of fresh Alabama 3 material since the tragic death of their beloved and unconventional frontman and songwriter Jake Black, aka The Very Reverend D Wayne Love, in May 2019.

Alabama 3 are very much back. Time to get whacked.

10 Apr | Doors 7.30pm | Tickets £23 | OTD £25
