An event is to celebrate everything we love about dogs.
Oak Tree Animals’ Charity in Wetheral Shields is putting on an event celebrating our four-legged friends combined with Easter fun and an Easter Trail this Saturday.
As well as the usual fun and games throughout the day, the charity is delighted to be joined by Morag, an ex-resident of Oak Tree, now a fully qualified mountain rescue dog, who will be making an appearance.
The Fun Dog Show, which will be judged by the Mayor of Carlisle, will be from 1pm and is open to all dogs and owners.
Classes:
- Best Rescue (For Rescue Dogs)
- Handsome Chap (Any Males)
- Gorgeous Girl (Any Females)
- Sausage Snaffle (Fastest Sausage Snaffle)
- Perfect Paw (Show off your dog’s best trick)
- Outstanding OAP (For dogs aged 7 and over)
- Precious Pup (For dogs under 10 months old)
- Bonus class: Just Like You (Owner who looks most like their dog)
Master Dog – a fun chance to measure your dog’s IQ – will run throughout the day as will Have a Go Hoopers, Dog Parkour and Have a Go Agility. For those dog artists out there, Snuffle Painting is a must.
Without a dog? Don’t let that put you off. There will be games galore, including three tombolas. Lots of activities for children will include crafts and funfair-style games.
The Tearoom will be serving food and drink all day with additional refreshments available around the site. The Orchard Yard Jumble Sale and Shops will also be open for business.
Oak Tree staff will be on hand offering free Behavioural Consultancy while its Community Team will be available throughout the day to answer any questions you may have.
The Art for Animals competition winner will be announced just before the Fun Dog Show (artwork will be on display in the Frank Tebbutt Building).
Caroline Johnson, General Manager, says: “Our Easter Dogs’ Day Out provides us all with an opportunity to come together to celebrate everything dog. So many of us rely on our canine companions to brighten our lives and we very much hope you can join us for what promises to be a fantastic day out for the whole family!”
The event will take place between 10am and 3pm.
