Artist Vega Brennan is running a new course for creatives in Carlisle.
The course, for visual artists, musicians, poets, textile artists, writers, photographers or anyone who wants to develop their creative practice will be held at the Creative Quarter on Blackfriars Street.
The eight-session course, run over 12 weeks, is based on Julia Cameron’s book The Artist’s Way.
Vega said: ‘There are many people in Cumbria who enjoyed making art and being creative over lockdown, and this course will enable them show the world that this is more than just a hobby.’
Vega, who is an experienced art teacher and mentor, has successfully run this course at her studio near Great Orton for three years.
This spring, Vega has worked with the Whistling Crew CIC to scale up this course for its headquarters.
She added: “The sessions always involve a lot of participation, ending with some very open creative and fun activities for each Monday evening session. While this course does not teach people how to draw or paint, it will show participants how to tap into their inspirations more easily and grow in confidence.”
The course costs £150 for 8 sessions. Payment in full prior to first session. Concessions are available. Spaces limited to 15 participants.
The course begins on April 25. To book, visit https://www.whistlingcrew.co.uk/events
