A man from Windermere who won 15 international awards for his short film The Fronts of War is now developing a prequel.
Thomas Gardner said the prequel – with a working title The Prelude to War – will explain all the events which took place in World War War One film.
Thomas said: “After all the success The Fronts of War gave myself and the cast and crew, we thought it would be a great idea to make a prequel film to tie up any loose ends from the first film.
“We are currently developing the script and are looking to shoot back in Kent and around Cumbria in November 2022.”
The original cast will return for their roles as well as some new characters which Thomas said will play a major role in the film’s plot.
“The first film only had three characters whereas the prequel will have close to 10 so there is more room for drama and tension within the plot. We will be opening up the casting soon.”
The Fronts of War was shot in Keswick and Kent with Andy Robertshaw, who was a military advisor on Steven Spielberg’s War Horse.
