Workington Town have signed a young utility player from Warrington Wolves on a month-long loan deal.
Dan Brewin has been playing for Warrington’s reserve team after moving through from the Super League club’s Academy.
The 20-year-old is a product of the Widnes Moorfield club and can operate in the back-row or at centre.
He has joined Town initially on a month’s loan and will be included in the squad for Sunday’s derby after training with the Championship side last night.
Town already have his Warrington teammate Luke Broadbent who initially joined on a two-week loan and has impressed at full-back.
Coach Chris Thorman had been hoping to make three signings this week ahead of the Whitehaven game and has taken to Twitter to outline his frustrations at not being able to add to his squad.
Town follow the trip to Whitehaven with a home game against Dewsbury, both of which are being considered as the proverbial six-pointers.
Thorman will still be hoping to add other new faces to his squad to face a Whitehaven side, even more stricken by a shortage of players than Town.
