Nigel Clough is looking for a reaction from his players at Carlisle United.
The Mansfield manager was not impressed with how his side had gone down 3-2 at home to Sutton United on Friday.
He was bitterly disappointed his side had not heeded his warning of avoiding going behind at all costs against a side everyone knew would be so hard to break down.
That home defeat ended the club’s record 11-game league winning run at Field Mill and they are now six points behind third-placed Port Vale as they chase automatic promotion.
Talking to the club website Clough said: “There has to be a response as we were looking for four points over Easter, six if we could. It makes it a very big game at Carlisle.
“The first thing is we must not give schoolboy goals away like we did on Friday. We have to move on.”
“What we had been saying all week in the build-up and preparation was that we mustn’t go 1-0 down against them, so I think when we did that it was a result-defining moment. To give them a two-goal lead made it incredibly difficult.
“We knew what they were like because they scored early when we played them away and we struggled to break them down.
“To win 11 on the trot at home and not make it 12 in the manner that we did is the worst part.
Clough has several players out injured and he is still considering whether he should use them in some form at Carlisle.
“We are very conscious if these injuries go wrong through playing, they are missing for a month to six weeks.
“Although there are only five games left, we still have to be careful with them.
“Rhys Oates will be back on the grass to do some training this week but Monday will probably be too soon.
“Sometimes you can get away with it but other times, like on Friday, it shows up when you’re missing these type of players,” he said.
