Barrow inch their way to League Two survival

Barrow are inching their way to League Two survival, four points clear of the drop zone with four games left to play.

Crucially, though, Oldham Athletic, who currently occupy the second relegation place have only three remaining fixtures.

It could have been even healthier for Barrow as their 2-2 draw at Salford saw them pegged back in the 89th minute when they looked on course for back to back wins.

In a dramatic finish Aaron Amadi-Holloway did really well to finish with a shot which beat home keeper Tom King at his near post.

Time was ticking away when a goalmouth scramble, in which Salford could have had a penalty, ended with Ian Henderson firing home the equaliser to keep the Ammies three points off the play-offs and three games to play.

Although they started on the front foot Barrow found themselves behind after 23 minutes. A long throw was successfully headed away but picked-up by Ryan Watson just outside the area and his shot was deflected past the diving Paul Farman.

There was a lucky escape for Salford early in the second half when centre back Corrie Ndaba miscued a clearance, hammering it against the bar with King well beaten.

However after 66 minutes a great free kick from John Rooney was headed past King by Josh Gordon and on 83 minutes Barrow had turned it round with the Amadi-Holloway goal.

Barrow were inching towards the finish line when Henderson spoiled their return journey with that late Salford equaliser.
