
Cumbrian artisan butter makers Winter Tarn Dairy are set to feature in episode three of the latest series of Channel 4’s A Lake District Farm Shop.
The documentary pays a visit to Kendal to meet the Jacksons, the owners of Winter Tarn Dairy, on Saturday April 23, from 8.15pm, as they craft their handmade butters ready for delivery to the multi-award-winning motorway services.
Each of the six episodes follows some of the local farmers, food producers and artisan crafters, whose creations are showcased and sold at family run Tebay Services.
Opening its doors to motorway traffic fifty years ago, the now iconic services has grown way beyond the simple petrol filling station that first started trading in 1972.
Over the years it has become a must visit destination in its own right for those traveling north or south on the M6, uniquely able to showcase a slice of Cumbria to its passing audience.
Harry Jackson, of Winter Tarn Dairy,said: “We were thrilled to be asked by the team at Tebay to get involved with the new series of the programme and to have the opportunity to share a little insight as to how we go about crafting our award-winning artisan butters, which we supply to the iconic foodie pitstop.’’
