Probe launched after man dies in Carlisle house fire

A probe has been launched after a man in his 30s died in a house fire in Carlisle.

Police were called at 8.53am yesterday to a house fire on Pennington Drive.

Fire, search and rescue, police and North West Ambulance Service attended.

A man in his 30s was located inside the premises and was declared dead at the scene.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained and remains under investigation.
