Residents are being reminded of changes to bin collections in Allerdale over the bank holiday weekend.

Due to the bank holiday, there will be no collections on Monday, May 2.

Therefore, collections in the week commencing Monday, May 2 will take place one day later than normal. For example, collections due on Monday, May 2 will take place on Tuesday, May 3 and collections scheduled for Friday, May 6 will take place on Saturday, May 7.

Collections scheduled for the week commencing May 9 will take place on the usual days.

Allerdale’s Customer Services will close on Friday, April 29 at 5pm and reopen at 9am on Tuesday 3 May.

Householders can check their collection day – and download a yearly calendar – on the council’s website at www.allerdale.gov.uk/bincollections. Missed bin collections can be reported at www.allerdale.gov.uk/en/report/report-missed-bin/.

Bins should be placed outside ready for emptying before 6am on the day of collection.

Residents are also being reminded that garden waste collections have also resumed across the borough.
