
The M6 has been closed in Cumbria after a one-vehicle crash.
Emergency services are currently dealing with a one-vehicle collision on the M6, south of Southwaite services.
The motorway is being closed between junctions 41 and 42 as the crash is dealt with.
Motorists are warned to expect delays and stay away from this route if possible.
Diversion routes
Our friends at Cumbria Road Watch have provided the following details:
Road users are advised to follow the solid triangle diversion symbol on road signs if heading northbound and exit at junction 41 and take the fourth exit onto the B5305 eastbound, signed A6 At Stoneybeck roundabout take the A6 Northbound first exit.
Continue straight on through Plumpton and High/Low Hesket junction 42 (M6), Golden Fleece roundabout take the fourth exit onto M6 northbound.
Road users are advised to follow the solid square diversion symbol on road signs if heading southbound and exit the M6 at junction 42. At the Golden Fleece roundabout take the second exit signed A6, Penrith. Go straight ahead on the A6 through Low/High Hesket and Plumpton and at Stoneybeck roundabout take the fourth exit (B5305) towards Wigton. At junction 41(M6) take first exit onto M6 southbound.
