Oak Tree Animals’ Charity has launched Run for Rescue to help it raise funds for its work.
People taking part in the challenge have the whole of May to cover a marathon distance of 26.2 miles by running, jogging, walking, cycling, swimming – or however they want.
People who complete the challenge will be awarded a medal and funds they raise will go to Oak Tree Animals’ Charity, which is based at Oak Tree Farm, Wetheral Shields, Carlisle.
Cathrene Mieras, Run for Rescue’s organiser, says “Having taken on this challenge myself earlier in the year, I can report that alongside my dog, Digby, I had an absolute ball and loved the fact that I was helping animals in need whilst enjoying some daily exercise.
“Some days I simply walked a small distance, others, I went a bit further afield. The distance was more than achievable in the time – you don’t realise how far you walk on a normal day without thinking about it!”
