Kendal have finished third in North One West after a farcical end to their season which could still have gone on another week.
Because Douglas could not get over from the Isle of Man a month ago the RFU insisted the game should be played last Saturday.
Once again Douglas reported they were having problems with flights to and from the island and the fixture was postponed for a second time.
Since then the RFU have fixed the game for this coming Saturday at Mint Bridge but Douglas have already cried off, declaring that they could only field ten players.
Now finally Kendal have been awarded the five points for a bonus-point win which ensures they finish above Firwood Waterloo in the table.
Firwood Waterloo can have no qualms about the late addition of five points to the Kendal total as they received the same for the no-show of Carlisle earlier in the season.
It means that, at the moment, the team that finishes third will earn a promotion to a higher level next season, although that still has to be confirmed under the latest RFU re-organisation plans.
Those are expected to be announced within the next fortnight with clubs like Aspatria, Cockermouth and Upper Eden sweating on what it will mean for them in terms of upwards, downwards or sideways movements.
With no game now on Saturday, Kendal players will; be available for Cumbria’s second game in the County Championship at Carlisle against East Midlands.
The county selectors could use between seven and eleven Kendal players for the game.
