Another departure from Workington Reds has provided manager Danny Grainger with more work ahead of the new season.
Brad Hubbold was announced by the club this afternoon as being the fourth player to leave Borough Park since the season ended.
A busy, creative midfielder Barrow-based Hubbold has turned down the offer to stay put to him by Grainger.
Hubbold first joined Reds when Dave Hewson was in charge at Borough Park but looked to be heading out when he was given an opportunity by Grainger during his first spell in charge. He has flourished since then although injuries did disrupt his season this time round.
Grainger explained: “I spoke to Brad at length to try and keep him at the Reds but due to travel and family commitments he feels this is the right time to move on for personal reasons.
“Since joining us three seasons ago Brad has developed and kicked on and I’m sure whoever he signs for he will be a success.
“We are obviously disappointed to see Brad move on but where one door closes another opens and myself and Ruddy are already in conversation with players about next season.”
Hubbold follows fellow mid-fielder Brad Carroll and strike pair Nico Evangelinos and Scott Fenwick out of Borough Park.
