Furness have reached the group final in the ECB National Club Championship and have a home tie against Northern CC.
The Cumbria League champions travelled to Manchester to take-on Walkden and came home with a win by 17 runs.
Furness chose to bat and lost opener Lewis Gribbin for only two but Tom Heywood (42) and Joe Amison (20) steadied the innings, putting on 78 for the second wicket.
They then slumped to 106-6 and it needed a quick knock of 26 from Ryan Griffiths off 33 balls to get them moving again.
They were eventually bowled-out for 152 but were grateful for 35 extras which included 26 wides.
Furness made a great start and had Walkden in trouble at 5-3 with skipper Peter Lawson grabbing two early wickets.
Thomas Gaskill (27) and Umer Ishaq (21) steadied the ship but they made no serious inroads until a quick-fire 33 from Henry Morgan gave them a glimmer of hope.
In the end though they only got to 135 when they were bowled-out for 135 with Harris Woods (3-24), Lawson (2-21) and Wyll Stanway (2-30) the most successful Furness bowlers.
Northern got through to the Group final with a win by 65 runs over Ormskirk with opener Liam Gray hitting an unbeaten 132 from 133 balls.
Founded in 1859 Northern are based in Sefton, Liverpool and are currently lying third with just one defeat in six games so far in the Liverpool and District League’s Premier Division.
