Barrow Raiders swept to a convincing 44-4 home win against Widnes Vikings to maintain their top six challenge in the Betfred Championship.
So unlucky not to get anything out of Leigh on Thursday, Barrow clearly fancied their chances of making amends against the Vikings.
Yet after some initial thrusts near the Widnes line Barrow were stung as the visitors came back strongly and actually took the lead on 15 minutes when Ryan Ince went in at the corner.
But four minutes later the Raiders were level. Top try scorer Tee Ritson weaved his way through from half-way to go in under the posts. With Jarrod Sammut off the field for treatment Jake Carter added the conversion.
Sammut returned on 28 minutes and within a minute had gone over with a lovely little burst through the Vikings defence, adding the conversion himself.
That sparked a series of home attacks and on 34 minutes skipper Jarrad Stack ploughed over for the third Barrow try which Sammut goaled for an 18-4 lead at the break.
Barrow scored again five minutes after the re-start and by the hour mark had put the game to bed with a 40-4 lead. There might have been only one further try in the last quarter but Barrow’s efforts in the two Jubilee games had gained a reward.
On 45 minutes Shane Toal went 70 metres begore being collared near the line. The ball was moved across the field and Sammut went over for the try which he converted.
Widnes were falling part and four minutes later Ellis Gillam dived over to stretch the lead with Sammut improving.
Two tries on 59 and 61 minutes meant the game was over as a contest with Ritson flying over in the corner and then Mark Costello, on debut, went in at the other corner, with Sammut converting the second.
The final try, which was unconverted, came on 76 minutes when Dan Toal spun cleverly out of a tackle before diving over.
