An investigation continues into the deaths of two people on the A596 in West Cumbria last month.

Bethanie Clark, 31, of Lowca, and David Muir, 43, of Parton, were killed when they were walking alongside the road at Flimby, near Maryport, on Sunday May 15.

A 30-year-old woman from West Cumbria was arrested on suspicion of two counts of causing death by dangerous driving. She remains under investigation.

Now detectives are appealing for information. Officers are looking to identify and speak to the passengers and a security guard who were travelling on the service bus between Maryport and Workington on Saturday May 14 between 10.30pm and 11pm.

Emergency services were called at around 12.10am to the collision, which involved a Nissan Qashqai.

Anyone with information relating to this incident can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it, quoting incident two of May 15 or call 101.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
