
Carlisle City have five friendlies lined up before they start their Division One campaign in the Northern League.
The new season is due to start on July 30 when City open with a home game against Sunderland RCA following their promotion as champions of Division Two.
They actually start with two home games at Gillford Park now known as the Three Rivers Health and Safety Consultancy Stadium. Thornaby will be the visitors on Tuesday, August 2.
There will be much interest this season in the local derby clashes with Penrith. The game at Frenchfields comes first on October 5 while City host the return on January 21.
The final game of the League season is on April 22 when they are scheduled to visit Heaton Stannington, the team they pipped on the final day to the Second Division title.
Following the resignation of Ryhope CW, Tow Low have been promoted to the First Division and the Second Division will run with one team short.
The friendlies start on July 2 with a visit from Second Division side Birtley Town and on July 5 City will travel to Lochmaben,
On Saturday July 9 they will be at home to Cleator Moor Celtic; entertain Workington Reds on July 12 and finish off at home to Nelson of the North West Counties League on July 23.
Manager Jim Nichols said: “We’ve brought in a few new players and just need to wait a few days until the registration window opens before announcing them.”
